The unique shape of the teacup was inspired by similar pieces purchased by Dard Hunter in 1908 while on his honeymoon in Vienna. Great lengths to were taken to develop this line of china with careful attention to these antique pieces, while incorporating an original design by Hunter for the pendant ornamentation. Drawn by Hunter for an advertising brochure while employed at the Roycroft Studios, this design is an elegant and streamlined motif influenced by his time in Vienna during the early 1900's.
